It’s the high note of your week!

One of our favorite traditions on Carter Mountain is our Thursday Evening Sunset Series! Each Thursday from mid-May through the end of September, we stay open ’til 9pm. Join us for dinner, live music, hayrides, and the best view of a sunset anywhere! It’s free admission! Bring lawn chairs and blankets, or come early for a picnic table.

Our Mountain Grill is open Thursday evenings with delicious dinner selections. Our menu varies from week to week and offers choices such as pulled pork BBQ, salads, wraps, fruit and cheese plates, hot dogs, fries, and of course our apple cider donuts and apple pie. Visit the Apple Barn for cider slushies, ice cream, and other snacks and treats.

Outside alcohol is not permitted by ABC Law, but no worries, plenty of Prince Michel wine and Bold Rock hard cider available!

Celebrate America’s 243rd Birthday with a day of good, old-fashioned family fun!

Get in the spirt of the 4th of July and join our family-friendly games like Water Balloon Toss, 3-Legged Race, Sack Races, and more.

Enjoy hayrides in the afternoon until dusk, live music from 3pm to 9pm, and delicious all-American food, cold refreshing sweet cider, hard cider, and wine.

We’ll stay open late so you can view the local fireworks happening around Charlottesville!

Please note:

• No outside alcohol permitted, by state ABC law.
• No sparklers or fireworks permitted.
• Carter Mountain is NOT setting off fireworks – we’re providing a place to view other fireworks
• All activities are subject to change due to weather.

New this summer! We’re inviting visitors to sit back and relax on Wednesday evenings during Wind Down Wednesdays. Set up on our patio, uncork some wine, and unwind to acoustic music and a stunning Charlottesville sunset.
