FAQ

Who needs a pass?

Visitors ages 12 and older. No entry passes are required for children under 12. Orchard activities, including picking, hayrides, and special events, are not included with ticket purchase.

How much are passes?

Single Entry Passes for a particular day are $10/person (ages 12+).

For flexibility, we are offering a limited number of Anytime Passes ($20/person) that may be used one time on any of our ticketed days. We also offer Season Passes ($25/person), which can be used an unlimited number of times on 2026 ticketed fall weekends.

Children under 12 are free.

Why do I need a pass?

Fall weekends are a very popular time to visit Carter Mountain Orchard. If you’d like to visit the orchard in person on one of the ticketed days — including entering the Country Store, Wine Shop, and Bold Rock Tap Room, or picking apples — you’ll need a pass.

Passes are not required on any other day. We encourage you to visit on a weekday or non-ticketed day.

Do I need to get passes before I arrive?

To guarantee the date and time slot you want, reserve your passes in advance.

If you arrive without a pass, we’ll accommodate you as space allows; however, if we have reached capacity, we won’t allow any further guests that day and you’ll be directed back down the mountain. Plan ahead when possible!

Can I come at any time during the day?

When you purchase a pass you will select a time slot. Time slots on ticketed days start on the hour, 9 AM–4 PM. Passes are good for a visit of up to 3 hours.

Last entry to pick-your-own apples is one hour before closing. Carter Mountain Orchard closes at 6 PM in September & October and 5 PM in November. View our seasonal hours

What do I do when I arrive at Carter Mountain?

When you arrive at the orchard, an attendant will review your pass and give you a wristband that is color-coded to your timeslot.

Picking conditions and varieties available vary by day and are subject to weather, customer traffic, and other conditions outside our control. View the Now Picking chart at chiles.farm/carter-pyo.

What if I can’t make it?

Sorry, we don’t offer refunds once your pass is purchased.

Manage your tickets until 11:59 PM the day before your ticketed date.

We’re open rain or shine and will only close in extreme weather, so feel free to enjoy your visit with us no matter the forecast. In cases where you’re unable attend, please give your Single Entry Pass on to someone else who can!

If you purchased an Anytime Pass, we’ll see you on whichever day is most convenient for you!

Entry passes are non-refundable. Your stay is contingent upon you following signage, staff instructions, and visitor guidelines. Your pass is good for your admission to Carter Mountain Orchard. All activities are pay-as-you-go.
