Patch of Fun is open on select fall weekends and school holidays:
Patch of Fun Passes
A Patch of Fun Pass (ages 3+) is $15 per person. Each pass includes:
Access to the Pick-Your-Own Pumpkin Patch
One Pumpkin (Any Size!) from the Pumpkin Patch
Fall Photo Ops beneath the Blue Ridge
Hayrides to and from the Apple Cannon
Two Launches of the Apple Cannon
All-Day Access to the Hands-On Outdoor Play Area

The Patch of Fun play area includes outdoor activities such as:

Fuel your fall play with a Witch’s Brew and perhaps an apple cider donut or two! Seasonal drinks and food items will be available at our drink stand, conveniently located within the play area.

Make the most of pumpkin season while you’re here! In addition to the Patch of Fun, feel free to visit the Farm Market and Clubhouse for treats off our seasonal menu, listen to live music in the courtyard, go apple picking, take in the mountain views, and make memories with family and friends during one of the best times of year at the orchard.
In Case You’re Wondering…
While select activities are created for ages 2–12, there’s fun for all ages. Older kids and adults will enjoy picking pumpkins, taking a hayride, and testing their aim with the apple cannon.
The Patch of Fun opens at 10 AM; see the dates schedule above for specific days the play area is open.
Last entry for pick-your-own pumpkins and the play area is one hour before closing. View our seasonal hours
Yes! Your Patch of Fun Pass is good for the whole day. Come ready to play, explore, and enjoy classic fall fun!
Children must have adult supervision at all times.
A Patch of Fun Pass is required on select fall weekends and school holidays, including:
- Sat-Mon, 9/19-9/21
- Sat-Sun, 9/26-9/27
- Sat-Sun, 10/3-10/4
- Sat-Tues, 10/10-10/13
- Sat-Sun, 10/17-18
- Sat-Sun, 10/24-25
- Sat-Tues, 10/31-11/3
Take advantage of any of the included activities and festivities! Passes are required for visitors ages 3+. Children under 2 do not need a pass.
Most fall weekdays, the pumpkin picking field is free and open to the public, simply pre-pay for your pumpkin(s) in the Farm Market when you arrive.
Yes! Our Farm Market will have a wide variety of ready-picked pumpkins for purchase.
Patch of Fun is all about pumpkins! While each pass holder does receive two apples to fire out of the Apple Cannon, pick-your-own apples happen elsewhere.
If you’d like to go apple picking, head on back to the Farm Market, where you’ll pre-pay for your apples by container size.
Note: on October weekends, you’ll need an Apple Orchard Pass (ages 12+) to join the apple picking fun. The pick-your-own check-in booth behind the market can help you get started.
Ready-picked apples will always be available in the Farm Market.
No, our Farm Market, Wine Shop, courtyard, patio, and pavilion are open to the general public for free every day.
Patch of Fun Passes are non-refundable. Your visit is contingent on following signage, staff instructions, and visitor guidelines.
