Happy Birthday America [2022]

Celebrate America’s 246th birthday with the best seat in town for viewing local Fourth of July fireworks shows!

July 4, 2022 | 6–10 PM
Entrance: $20 Adults (16+) | $10 Children (15 & under)

Local fireworks typically begin around 9 PM.

Groove to live music by Local Vocals from 6-8:45 PM. Kids will also enjoy The Glitter Bee’s whimsical face painting (5:30–9 PM) and Fairy Floss Cotton Candy (6–9 PM).

In addition to local food trucks—Vision BBQ, Two Brothers Southwestern Grill, Sweet Jane’s Kitchen—we’ll have ice cream, apple cider donuts, and other sweet snacks.

Adult beverages, such as patriotic wine slushies, will be available in the Carter Mountain Wine Shop and Bold Rock Tap Room.

Each year, Charlottesville’s Fourth of July fireworks are made possible by generous donations from the community. Every donation goes to the fireworks celebration, with all surplus funds benefitting the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad (CARS). Donate online now! Carter Mountain will donate a portion of proceeds from this event to CARS.

Please note:

• Gates close at 7 PM; no admittance after 7 PM.
• Carter Mountain is not setting off fireworks—we’re putting on a music and food event while providing a view of local fireworks.  We have no control over and are not responsible for the quality and length of the fireworks shows in the area.

• Masks are recommended for non-vaccinated guests.
• Outside food and beverages are not permitted. No smoking on property. We don’t permit tailgating in our parking lots.
• No dogs or other pets permitted.
• All activities are subject to change due to weather.
• No refunds unless the event is canceled by Carter Mountain Orchard.
• Rain date is Tuesday July 5th.
