Employment Opportunities at Carter Mountain Orchard
Assistant Manager
Duties include, but not limited to: providing excellent customer service by performing opening and/or closing duties, supervising staff, managing deliveries and inventories, interacting with and assisting customers, problem-solving, cashiering, etc. Must be solution-oriented, organized, personable, and flexible, and insure that a positive work environment is maintained while providing a high level of customer service. You will be on your feet all day! Retail management and/or customer service experience highly preferred. Weekend availability is a must.
Candy/Caramel Apple Maker
Short-term opportunity to make some extra money! Approximately 30 hours/week to produce high quality caramel and candy apples for our fall season. The qualified candidate must be reliable, have high attention to detail, be able to work independently, and be able to mass-produce a high quality product in a short period of time. Kitchen experience and knowledge of food safety practices is a plus.
This position lasts about 6 weeks - from mid-September til late October. This position can be combined with another position for more hours.
Customer Service – Phone Receptionist
Our phones ring off the hook - and that's a good thing! Duties include, but not limited to, providing excellent customer service by being the telephone voice of our business as well as performing some administrative tasks as needed. Must have a personality that will shine through on the phones to allow our callers to feel valued and important. Proficiency in MS Office programs, and patience with technology are a plus. You will also be trained for retail sales in a pinch.
This is a SEASONAL position, begins in August and goes through early November. Shifts will generally include Thursdays through Mondays.
Donut Maker/Pie Baker/Bakery Assistant
Time to make the donuts! We are looking for energetic, hard-working, and happy people to help in our busy bakery! You'll learn to make our famous apple-cider donuts, you'll bake pies and cookies, and help keep our kitchens safe and clean. Weekday and weekend hours available. Kitchen experience helpful. Some very long days on your feet will be part of the schedule! Short term position (through mid-November)
Kitchen Prep
Kitchen experience preferred. Must be able to follow directions and work independently. Duties include prepping food, wrapping sandwiches, cleaning, washing dishes, and other duties as assigned. Must be completely reliable. Days and some evenings required. Short term position (goes through October)
Retail Sales
Duties include, but not limited to: providing excellent customer service by greeting and waiting on walk-in customers, stocking (lifting and carrying boxes), cashiering, and maintaining an exceptionally clean facility. Must be accurate, customer-oriented, enjoy working with the public, and spending time outdoors. You will be on your feet all day! Weekday and weekend shifts available, days and some evenings. Customer service/retail experience preferred. Short term position (through mid-November)
Wine Sales Team Member
Our Wine Sales Associates are responsible for providing front-line guest experience. They efficiently and effectively promote the sale of wine, memberships, food, and merchandise through excellent customer service, and develop relationships that promote sales and brand loyalty.
REQUIRED SKILLS: - Excellent verbal communication skills - Excellent presentation skills - Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills - Ability to manage priorities and workflow - Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems, Microsoft Office) - Excellent customer service skills - Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Kitchen and/or baking experience preferred. Early morning hours required. Short term position, through mid-November
Donut Maker/Pie Baker
Time to make the donuts! Our kitchen is busy, and we need help making donuts, baking pies, making caramel and candy apples, baking mixes, and other bakery products. We are a production-oriented kitchen and there is a lot of repetition during the shift. You will also keep the kitchen clean and safe. We start early in the morning! Mid-week and weekend hours, Saturdays required, and some Sundays. Kitchen experience helpful.
