Carter Mountain hosts lots of events open to the public throughout the season! Visit our Calendar of Events for details.
Around Easter Weekend
Every year families and kids head up the mountain for Carter Mountain’s Easter event. The Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 3-8 is the highlight of the event with thousands of eggs to be found!
Wind Down Wednesdays
Wednesdays, late May through September
Sit back and relax on Wednesday evenings atop Carter Mountain. Set up on our patio, uncork some wine, and unwind to acoustic music and a stunning Charlottesville sunset.
Thursday Evening Sunset Series
Thursdays, May through September
Sunsets at Carter Mountain Orchard bring the community together on Thursdays—May through September—with live music, food, wine, hard cider, and good times!
Mondays and Tuesdays, June through August
Cultivating Curiosity is a weekday summer program geared towards children 3-8 years old. Morning sessions include storytime, craft, hayride, and fruit picking (in season) with seasonal themes such as apples, peaches, pumpkins, flowers, bees, etc.
Pre-registration is not required, just c’mon out for a little learnin’, a little activity, a little food, and a lot of fun!
Weekend in July
Every year at the peak of the summer we celebrate the peak of our peach season at the Ol’ Fashioned Peach Festival! Family-fun activities include: pick-your-own peaches, games and prizes, hayrides, face painting, and more! 2019 brings our 9th annual festival event!
Apple Harvest Celebration
September through November
Apple Harvest is our biggest celebration of the year! Every fall, visitors are invited to pick-your-own fun with food, hayrides, wine tastings, pumpkins, apple picking, apple butter, apple cider, apple cider donuts, apple pie, and all things apple!
